Jeffrey R. Stout, Ph.D., FACSM, FNSCA, CSCS is currently a Associate Professor and Director of the Metabolic and Body Composition Laboratories in the Department of Health and Exercise Science, at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Stout is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, former President of the International Society of Sports Nutrition and Vice President of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Dr. Stout has published over 100 research studies that focus on nutrition, exercise performance, muscle function and body composition in young to older populations. Furthermore, he has co-authored and co-edited 7 books on sports nutrition. Dr. Stout serves on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition and is a regular reviewer for journals such as Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise and Journal of Applied Physiology. He has also presented at national and international conferences since 1993. In July 2001, Dr. Stout received the Outstanding Young Investigator of the Year Award from the NSCA. In addition, that year he also won the Editorial Excellence Award from the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. Currently, Dr. Stout enjoys mentoring his graduate students who help to manage the various research activities in the Metabolic and Body Composition Laboratories. He also competes as a master's athlete in the Olympic sport of Judo.

Dr. Lopez is recognized for applying his diverse background in nutrition, exercise science, sports and musculoskeletal medicine, endocrinology & metabolism to improving not only the health and quality of life in his patients, but also athletic performance in recreational and elite athletes. Dr. Lopez directs patient care at his centers to optimize outcomes by combining the best methods from the fields of musculoskeletal medicine, pain management, exercise physiology, nutrition and physical rehabilitation. He received his training at the world renowned Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine - Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, and holds a Masters degree in nutritional biochemistry with concentration in exercise physiology at Northwestern University. His research interests include: hormonal modulation and nutritional intervention to improve human performance and rehabilitation outcomes of injured patients. An active researcher, speaker and author, he has presented nationally and published articles and scientific abstracts on various topics related to nutrition, stroke, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain disorders, athletic performance, optimal aging, and physician-based exercise prescription.

Dr. Lopez is the founding partner and medical director of 3 facilities in NJ that focus on integrative rehabilitation medicine and human performance to treat patients with the full spectrum of orthopedic injuries (Performance Spine & Sports Medicine, LLC. and Northeast Spine and Sports Medicine, PC.). Dr. Lopez is consultant to professional athletes and the nutritional supplement industry as product developer, researcher and writer.

Marie Spano is one of the country's top sports nutritionists and a nutrition communications expert. She helps Olympic, professional and recreational athletes implement a nutrition game plan that will maximize their athletic performance. Marie also works with leading food, beverage and supplement companies on their PR and communications strategies. She has appeared on NBC, ABC, Fox and CBS affiliates on the east coast, written hundreds of magazine articles, trade publication articles, book chapters, e-zines and marketing materials. Ms. Spano holds an MS in Nutrition from the University of Georgia where she worked as a graduate assistant in the athletic department and a BS degree is in Exercise and Sports Science from UNC, Greensboro, NC where she ran Division 1 cross country.

Dr. Martha Garcia, PharmD, JD

Originally from Miami, Florida, Dr. Garcia received her Doctorate in Pharmacy from Creighton University in 1997 and Juris Doctorate in 2007. Dr. Garcia is a registered pharmacist in several states and has been practicing hospital pharmacy for 13 years. In addition, Dr. Garcia is a certified coach for USA Gymnastics. Dr. Garcia has consulted for nutrition companies on structure and functional claims on supplements.
